I already miss Ultra. What is Ultra you ask? It’s a video chromakey program (the best there is) that was created by a company called “Serious Magic”. You could get amazing keys with Ultra which really helped you get amazing looking video online.
A few years ago, Adobe bought Serious Magic and planned to do more with Ultra, including creating more virtual sets. Unfortunately, Adobe recently announced that they are not going to sell Ultra any longer or create new virtual sets etc.
Big mistake. This was one of the best video products out there.
The question now is, will someone create a product very similar to Ultra? There is lots of opportunity for something like that, especially now.

I believe Adobe never intended to develop Ultra but instead bought SeriousMagic with the full intention of burying it’s fabulous products. Why? Well they made editing unnecessary and chroma keying easy. NOT in their best interest since they sell Premiere and AfterEffects.
We MAY see some of the technology surface in a product down the road. But it is a HUGE loss to the video community that tools like Ultra, VC, and Vlog It, will die out due to Adobe’s desire to limit easy to use video tools.
When you think of the sales funnel they could have created, it seems like short sightedness to this observer.
Fortunately, for Mac users there is VideoCue (similar Vlog It). Let’s hope we get a Mac version of Ultra sooner rather than later. HUGE opportunity for some smart developer.

You being the “Website Success Doctor” why don’t you pitch them on how to fix it or find someone like Youtube that you can pitch on buying it off Adobe?
I have no idea what it is or what it does but if it is as good a product as you think why not go create some value with your knowledge of it?

Hey Paul there is a guy on youtube(probably more than one) called KingHuman http://www.youtube.com/user/KingHuman that does a ton of stuff with Chromakey, check out his videos. Maybe you and him can do a teleseminar type video(maybe a split screen Youtube video) with you asking him questions and visa versa.
Maybe he will convert you or you can convert him or maybe you can bash each other in a friendly(profitable) way.
By the way, you don’t need to post these I am just throwing some …. at the wall maybe some of it you can use. Who said it? “A mind stretched can not go back to its’ original size.”
